slower pace, more flexibility and comfort, in mind. Your journey starts in Cape Town. Explore the infamous Route 62, the iconic Garden Route and the Addo Elephant Park on this trip of a lifetime.

DAY 1 – SAT 9 JUN
Fly into Cape Town
Welcome to South Africa!
A friendly Embrace SA Tours staff member will meet you at Cape Town International Airport. Arguably one of the most well-known mountains in Africa, Table Mountain, provides a magnificent backdrop to cosmopolitan Cape Town and now boasts the accolade of New 7 Wonders of Nature.
We will drop you off at your V&A Waterfront hotel and make sure you are happy with your room.
Today’s lunch is for your own account.
You are free for the rest of the day to explore Cape Town on your own. Here are some suggestions:
discover the history of the city, with the “Hop On & Hop Off buses”,
breath in the beauty and tranquillity of Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, one of Cape Town’s Big 7
go for a spa treatment at your hotel or local spas at the V&A Waterfront
take a 12-minute helicopter ride along the Twelve Apostle coastline
stay at your hotel and enjoy your own company

This evening the whole group meet for the first time at a traditional African Restaurant, GOLD, with music and exciting cuisine, for our welcoming dinner.

DAY 2 – SUN 10 JUN
The breakfast at your hotel caters for a variety of tastes and flavours.
Our journey today will help you to grasp the beauty of the scenery in and around Cape Town.
We drive via the Twelve Apostle Mountains, Camps Bay, well-known for it’s beaches to Hout Bay and then continue on with Chapman’s Peak Drive to Simon’s Town. Chapman’s Peak Drive is well known as one of the most scenic drives in the world!
We visit Boulders, Simon’s Town for a few hours to see the penguins, have lunch and swim in (… or experience!) the waters of the Indian Ocean. The Boulders Penguin Colony forms part of the Table Mountain National Park.
Lunch at the Seaforth Restaurant, where you will enjoy the sea, boulders, beach and often some penguins (lunch included).
This afternoon we visit Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Cape Point is the most south-western point of Africa and many people claims that this is the place where the two oceans meet (Atlantic and Indian).
At the gates of Cape Point we explore the stalls of the vendors who sell African crafts and curios.
Tonight’s supper is for your own account. There are many exciting restaurants at the V&A Waterfront.

DAY 3 – MON JUN 11
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel.
Today’s journey takes us to places which remind everybody of the ongoing struggle for freedom of the people of South Africa.
After a short walk to the Nelson Mandela Pier at the V&A Waterfront, we embark on the ferry to Robben Island (45 minutes at sea), where an ex-political prisoner will be our tour guide.
On arrival back at the harbour we leave for the District 6 Museum where lunch will be served (included).
This afternoon Noor Ebrahim, one of the District 6 citizens, gives you a guided tour of the museum.
After the visit to the museum, we do a city tour of the former District 6 area, Bo-Kaap (Upper Cape) and Malay Quarters
Back at your hotel we invite you for a Traditional South African Braai (BBQ) Supper (included)
After supper: Meet with Mr Christo Brand the former warder of Pres Nelson Mandela on Robben Island for informal discussions.

Day 4 – TUES JUN 12
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel.
This morning we discover the beauty and interesting history of Cape Town as we go on a city sight-seeing tour.
We start with an Up Cycles bike ride or walk on the Sea Point Promenade. We visit the City Centre, Camps Bay, and Green Market Square.
The high light of the morning is a visit to Table Mountain. A cable car ride up Table Mountain is always spectacular. Table Mountain
We enjoy lunch on top of the mountain (included)
We visit the informal settlement, Khayelitsha, to give you the opportunity to see for yourself where the different people groups of South Africa stay and work.
The afternoon tour includes visits to Golden, the Flowerman, who makes flowers from tin cans, and several community development projects. Our guide is Monwabisi Maqogi, a long time friend of the owner of the company.

DAY 5 – WED JUN 13

Today we explore the area in and around Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, two of the well known SA Winelands towns
Did you ever walk with a cheetah? We visit the Cheetah Outreach Project, promoting the survival of the free ranging, Southern African cheetah through environmental education and delivering conservation initiatives (cheetah activities for your own account).
Next stop is Stellenbosch. Stellenbosch is South Africa’s wine and gourmet capital and the second oldest town. Here you will find some of the world’s top wines, delicious local food and breathtaking scenery
Lunch is at a wine farm in the Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch (for your own account)
After lunch we take the scenic road over the Helshoogte pass to Franschhoek

After a stimulating day we enjoy drinks on the verandah of our hotel, before we sit down for a traditional South African meal.

DAY 6 – THURS JUN 14

Today we explore the Valley of Abundance, Tulbagh
We start the day with a tractor ride! (Oude Kloof Tractor Ride at Oude Kloof Wine Estate). Oudekloof is the original pass through the mountains into the Tulbagh valley, first called Roodezandt after the sandstone cliffs on the northwestern face.
Then follows a guided historic walk of Main street of Tulbagh, where you can see many original buildings in the Cape Dutch style/architecture.
Lunch: Picnic under the trees at Saronsberg Wine Estate

Today our group says good bye to the Western Cape and fly to Johannesburg in the Gauteng Province
Drive from Tulbagh to CPT International Airport. We will stop for a while at the Afrikaanse Language Monument in historical Paarl

After lunch fly to O R Tambo Airport, Johannesburg
Drop off at your hotel at the Cradle of Humankind near Krugersdorp
